Peptic Ulcers

Peptic ulcer are ulcers which occur in the lining of any part of the gastrointestinal tract. These ulcers are not normally dangerous, however they are very painful and can occasionally be cancerous. Over the counter medicines can alleviate the symptoms but they will not solve the problem, medical intervention is required. The ulcers also have a tendency to recur so it is important to establish a relationship with Asheville Gastroenterology Associates for ongoing monitoring.
