James R. Alexander, MD
Dr. Alexander came to Asheville in 1988 after an Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Tennessee at Memphis, followed by a fellowship and faculty position at the University of Utah. He practices general adult gastroenterology, with special interests in Endoscopic Ultrasound, Laser Endoscopy, Endoscopic Placement of Enteral Stents, and Endoscopic Resection of Complex Intestinal Polyps.
Dr. Alexander is a member of many professional organizations including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His outside interests include fly fishing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and four children.
