2010 Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run

AGA is pleased to announce our first annual 5K Walk/Run to promote Colon Cancer Awareness . Colon Cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death, with 1 in 19 Americans developing the disease during one's lifetime.
Despite effective tests being available, colorectal cancer screening remains underused with less than half of the American population undergoing some form of screening.
The main goal of the 5K Walk/Run event is to "get the word out" in terms of stressing the importance of colon cancer screening.
We are proud to send all proceeds from the event to the Mission Healthcare Foundation which will help fund the Mission Comprehensive Cancer Care Facility to bring state of the art outpatient cancer treatment to Western North Carolina.
