2011 Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk

AGA is pleased to announce our second annual 5K Run/Walk to promote Colon Cancer Awareness . Colon Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death, with 1 in 19 Americans developing the disease during one's lifetime.
Despite effective tests being available, colorectal cancer screening remains underused with less than half of the American population undergoing some form of screening.
The main goal of the 5K Run/Walk event is to increase recognition of the importance of screening for this common disease.
We are proud to send all proceeds from the event to the Mission Healthcare Foundation which will help fund the Mission Comprehensive Cancer Care Facility to bring state of the art outpatient cancer treatment to Western North Carolina.
