Bio
Dr. Michael W. Grier graduated Phi Betta Kapp from the University of California at Berkeley in 1965. He completed medical school at the University of Southern California and then did his training in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After service as a Major in the U.S. Air Force he moved to Asheville in 1975 and was the first Board Certified full-service gastroenterologist in Western North Carolina. He founded Asheville Gastroenterology Associates in 1976 and served as President and CEO until 2003. He continues to enjoy all aspects of gastroenterology practice and has a number of other interests including various farm ventures, antiquing and restoring old cars.
